Hi, my name is Emma and this blog is all about my husky Hendrix. Me and my boyfriend adopted Hendrix in August 2015 when he was 10 months old. In his first 10 months of life he had received very little training so consequently believed he was in charge and we were just his play things. This soon changed once the training began and he realised he wasn’t the alpha dog.
Now he is a good boy (mostly) unless he is having what we like to call his “teenage days” in which he likes to rebel the system and is full of teenage attitude. He is such a sociable dog and just has to go over and say hello to everyone (even if I tell him not to!). Both me and him have made a lot of friends since we started our morning walk routine. We are now part of a little group, or dog pack, that meet up every morning. I love nothing more than watching all the dogs play together. You will probably hear a lot about Hendrix’s friends in our posts, so let me tell you a bit more about some of the gang.
A fellow Husky and troublemaker, Nymeria
The big softy German Shepard, Max
Hendrix’s girlfriend, Golden Retriever, Faith
The newest and youngest addition, Husky, Apache
If it was up to me I would happily spend all day just chilling out with Hendrix, going out for walks and having adventures. Unfortunately life does not let you do that and paying the bills requires me to go to work. Now they say that separation anxiety is a big thing in dogs who are left alone but in our case I seem to be the one that suffers more. I normally spend the day feeling guilty that he is home alone only to return to find him sprawled out on the sofa without a care in the world. The idea of working for myself has always appealed to me but up until now I have not found that thing that I am passionate enough about to turn into a career. It dawned on me that the passion I was looking for was right in front of me in the form of a big fury four legged companion. If he can manage to give me the will power to get up every morning at 7.30am for a walk (even on my days off) when I am most definitely not a morning person then anything is possible! I am in the process of researching and developing my own business based around everything dog! This blog is the first step, so I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I will.
