As spring is just around the corner we felt it was time for a collar upgrade. Our last collar was from the winter collection from the wonderful Boots & Bones but due to a hectic Christmas I never got around to sharing a blog post with you. Sorry Guys 😦
We have been on the look out for a new collar for a while now and Boots & Bones nearly won it with their Spring Collection. See it here. The other day however, I stumbled across Paws & Hounds on Facebook and fell in love with one of their collars so just had to buy it right away.
Paws & Hounds are a small independent dog business based in a small studio in Chester. All of their collars and pet accessories are handmade and cannot be easily found on the high street. If you are looking for something a bit different, go and check out their website. As soon as we move house I am buying one of their dog tags, I love the little ghost but I feel the Little S*!t would be more fitting!
So what did we choose?
We went for the Orange Stripes collar to put a bit of spring in our step.
What I like about this collar is that it is wider than our previous collar. This means you can see it on Hendrix and it doesn’t just get swallowed up by his fluffy neck!
The collar is well made, with a black plastic clip and a large D ring to attach the tags too.It is easy to adjust if needed and all sizes have about 4″ of adjustment room. The larger the size, the thicker the width of the collar. Hendrix is wearing a Large which is 16-24″ and 25mm wide.
The collars are made using high quality cotton wrapped around nylon webbing. Another great feature is that they have been treated with fabric protector to help repel dirt and keep your pets collar look good. I have already had to wash this collar as Hendrix rolled in some mud but they are all machine washable on a cool cycle or you can hand wash them like I did.
Overall I am really happy with both the look and quality of this collar. I highly recommend checking out Paws & Hounds if you haven’t already as they have some fantastic products at very reasonable prices.
