It’s that glorious time of the year again where we can stuff our faces with pancakes without feeling guilty about it. So get raiding those cupboards to see what magnificent combinations we can come up with!
But why should your dog be left out of all the fun???
We tried and taste tested a recipe fit for the finest pooches. The best part is, it is super simple to make!
All you need are a few ingredients:
3 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter (dog friendly of course!)
And that’s it!
See, I told you it was simple!
Along with that you will need a frying pan, a bowl and a blender or mixer.
Step 1 :Chop up your banana and add to the bowl.
Step 2: Throw in the egg and peanut butter
To save on washing up you can let your furry assistant lick the spoon after the peanut butter
Step 3: Blend into a batter mix
Step 4: Heat the pan and then spoon in the mixture. We used coconut oil to grease the pan as its great for dogs!
Step 5: Once one side is browned and the mixture is set, flip over to brown the other side.
I will admit that our first attempt at flipping went a bit wrong and I broke the pancake, whoops! Practice makes perfect!
Step 6: Serve to your dog and watch them devour the lot in 5 seconds
Due to the terrible lighting in my kitchen this was the best photo I could get as the rest were just a big fluffy blur and then the pancakes were all gone!
If you wanted to you could always add on some dog friendly toppings such as:
- Treats or broken up dog biscuits
- Natural Yoghurt
- More Peanut Butter
- Cheese (if you want to go savoury)
- Fruit such as Apples, Bananas or Blueberries (remember grapes and raisins are a no-go!)
Remember, No Chocolate!
So now when you are getting the puppy dog eyes while you make your pancakes, you can give in and give them their own!
We will be trying this recipe again and hopefully I can get some better photos of the finished product before Hendrix gobbles them all up!
Happy Pancake Day Everyone,
Emma & Hendrix
